Sorry folks I must sound like a broken record by now ....Amy and I went out doing errands today. It's been a couple crummy day's weather-wise very overcast and humid and gloomy from the hurricane Florence down in Maryland and the Carolina's ( my heart goes out to the people dealing with that storm :-()
Amy has been kind of a perch patato so I decided we'd go out.
Of course she perked right up! :) Got rather rambunctious sitting on my shoulder as I drove, tugging at my sun glasses and play fighting with my fingers as I tried to stop her:18: nibbling/chewing at my fingers harder than normal.
We went into the next town over to get her Roudytush pellets and Beeb's Fruity ones and a couple honey sticks. Amy was super friendly with everyone who came up to us as they asked questions. She even threw out a couple random hello's and whatcha doing's lol.

Then we headed to our regular local Allpets and it looked like they got a huge selection of new birdies in! Budgie's and 'teils,conures..they even had a TAG,a CAG,and a DYH. I freaked out at their prices. $4,400 for the young CAG.. $3,800 for the DYH and $3,600 for the TAG.. Senegal's were $1,200 Sun's were $800..what a rip off

We hit the donut factory for a coffee for me and her plain munchkin..all in all it was a great outing :D

That's so awesome. Amy and Finley have something in common, they love going out to run errands.

Absolutely nothing tiring about your posts! Reasons? My hometown is Connecticut, and I find it amusing that some people still live there! You have a real talent in writing! You create vivid pictures for everyone! Carry-on!

Always enjoy the out and about stories of Amy! So, don't stop!

When I visit the local pet shop, I never look at prices. Never! After all, I'm not buying anyway. The highest price you saw is still less than Julio's yearly Vet costs and that does not include medication or dietary requirements. It is expensive to properly raise a young, physically and mentally healthy baby.

Enjoy Amy my friend, s/he gives you more than you ask for!

those prices sound over the mood to me. CAG,TAG, and amazon.
Sun Conure is what I would expect around my area.
Makes it easier to resist temptation.

I know prices are subject to change over years, but geez..When I rescued Smokey from a now defuncted pet store back in...ummm...a long time ago lol..she was 6 months old and I paid $300 for her..Amy was $400 in 1990 from a "breeder"..I'd never now purchase any pet from a pet store..even the pup's were outrageous.

I like hearing about Amy's outings. :) Wish my two liked to go places as much as Amy does.
One thing Ralph (QP) and Scooter (CAG) have in common with Amy is an appreciation of a good donut (as do I). :D They both know the meaning of that word and each of them occasionally gets a small piece of cinnamon donut as a special treat.
Those parrot prices are pretty high; around here, Greys are typically around $2500, and a DYHA would be similarly priced.

TAGs and CAGs here (Midwest) are no less than $3,000...and that is as cheap as they come (weaned).

Nice trip, buddy. I tried to to take a page from your play book by tking Salty to a Starucks but he had the good taste to turn up his nose at allof the victuals there. Ouch those prices are out of hand.

That is *so* shocking, you could probably fly one in for that money... so you'd have a parrot *and* a holliday in Europe (750 bird, 50 for the paperwork, rest to flight and cheap hotels etc.)

Hearing stories like yours makes me realize that I can take my YHA out with me. Do you still take Amy out in the winter months? I'm thinking She doesn't fly? I'd like to hear more stories of yours and Amy's trips!

What a great day! Here we don’t have that kind of opportunity so we will enjoy reading of your outings!

Kevin likely would say “bye” to everyone and wave given that chance. He’s social but on his terms! [emoji23]
