Hi all!

I know I have not been posting as much as I did when I first signed into this forum, but that is because all of you have been so great in helping me resolve my issues with Cracker. Many thanks! Cracker has been a great little bird, although I have read that I might encounter problems with him once he reaches two years of age. He has become a little more demanding lately. He wants more and more of my undivided attention, although he has not become as clingy as a Cockatoo. I hope this is not a portent of future problems.
I have also learned what it is like to want another bird. The bird I wanted was a common parakeet. It only cost $15.99! He shared a very large cage with alot of other parakeets The reason I wanted this bird is because it was clinging to the side of his shared cage hanging upside down. While he was hanging upside down he let me scritch his tummy. I was amazed that a pet store Parakeet could be so tame. If someone could see pass the ordinary looks of this parakeet, they will be getting quite a bargain. I cannot even say that it would be a humane gesture on my part to buy the bird. All the birds seemed to be in excellent health and had cages that look as if they are cleaned at least once a day. The birds at this store are recieving excellent care, and it is a chain pet store. I will not be going back to this pet store anytime soon, because I know if I see that bird again I will not have the will power to resisting buying him (or her). Well, that is all for now. I hope all of you are having great lives!

Hi all!
He has become a little more demanding lately. He wants more and more of my undivided attention, although he has not become as clingy as a Cockatoo. I hope this is not a portent of future problems.

My sun was really clingy when I first got her. So much so that she was more interested in playing with me than with her toys. If I left the room and didn't take her with me she would screech loudly! I have noticed lately tho, that she is becoming more independent! I started small, by putting her in her cage with loads of toys, closing the door, and sitting next to her. At first I felt a little guilty about not taking her everywhere with me, but I knew it'd be best for her to learn to play and have fun by herself. It's entertaining to watch her go for her toys!! Good Luck!!!

I was content with just 1 bird until I met a Macaw at a pet store. Although I couldn't afford him it really got me yearning for another parrot which reallky surprised me considering how much joy I get from Shadow. I kept an eye out on what was out there neediing a home, met Chickadee and the rest is history.

Happy that you are giving us feedback from time to time, please continue to do so.
So glad Cracker is doing so great. You have done a wonderful job, being a fantastic guardian. Remember one thing......birds are just like children, demanding much love and attention. LoL the only difference between the two is, as children grow up, their demands become less, a birds never changes.
Make sure he has enough toys to keep him occupied, rotate them around, from time to time, they always think they new ones.
Keep up the good work.
