Angry parrot?

I've noticed over the past two days my IRN has been getting angry every
so often.

He started attacking his basketball hoop and viciously biting his swing.

Any idea what's going on? Could this be a sign of bluffing starting maybe?
He's almost 6 months old if that helps.

He's also been lunging for my hand when offered food when he's angry.

Is he locked in the cage when this happens? Joey (macaw) does this when he wants to be let out and is throwing a tantrum.. He'll bang on all of his toys and throw them around his cage

Yeah he's in his cage when doing this.

It first happened last night when I stopped feeding him sunflower seeds so I assumed he was acting spoilt. Then it happened again this morning randomly.

Haha yeah Joey does this in the morning when he wants me to wake up and play with him. My guess is he is just throwing a birdie tantrum...

Blu started doing it as well recently, attacking toys and peppers. He is not attacking me but this morning he got angry with a box of pasta which I was holding and lunged at it. He is 2 years old so I wouldn't say it is bluffing. He is outside of his cage all day long. I'd say he is just having some fun.

I tried to put him back in his cage earlier when he didn't want to and he bit me.
Once I put him back in he started headbutting stuff again lol.

Play with him in the cage, it should be fun in there and putting him back in with the door left open so he understands it's all part of the same place

What LordTriggs said works for me, unless I'm sleeping, the door is generally open. When I lay in bed reading or whatever he just comes and goes....It's his house, and he knows it's his, but he doesn't fret going in or coming out all on his own.

How do you do this without making sure he doesn't endanger himself?

I have to watch him like a hawk whenever I have him out because he's
always trying to do something he shouldn't be, so it would be near impossible
to monitor him like this all day.

Mine would just hang out on stuff, statues I have, TV, whatever he could easily be on. OR if I was playing video games he'd often sit on the controller "helping"

Thing is if the second he does something you come running telling him no he's going to think it's a game. Just let him do his thing like I said, you can shut the doors and just sort of hang out. Attempt to get work done, watch tv whatever you want really. Try bringing some foot toys out for him to play with

TO crayfish usually he's on me....he's on me now, unless I'm at work or going to sleep, he's like....always out, I just go about my business with my best friend on my shoulder...it's why I bought him in the first place. I have separate water and food bowls downstairs, he just hangs out with me all the time.

Why buy a bird that you don't want to hang with all the time? I mean I have to go to work and I have to go to the store at times, and I have to sleep; but when I'm up everything I do whether it's watching netflix or reading or eating or tending the yard or cleaning the house or stepping outside to feed the chipmonks and wild birds etc. I do it with my buddy. (Now if I have to use a power tool/hedge trimmer etc. for example I put him in on the steps by the front door for the duration.)

My IRN acts like he had ADHD or something. I'd love to relax with him
on my shoulder but he doesn't stay in one place for more than a couple
of minutes at a time and that's me being generous.

Don't get me wrong he's plenty of fun when he's getting up to his antics
but he doesn't really behave in a way that would allow me to take my eyes
off of him.
