Just got a Goffins cockatoo that is 24 yrs old. Originally was owned by a male who passed and kept by his mother, not really a bird person. She loves my husband, never bites him. She lets me pet her, she will come on my lap, shoulder etc., but will bite me if I try to do step up/down or sometimes if I hand her a cracker she doesn't want. If she is walking on floor she will attack my feet. She screams if we walk out of room or if not giving her a lot of attention. When we are home she is out of her cage. How can we break her of this behavior?
