I've seen a lot of comments on here that once a bird leans a certain number of words that is probably all they will learn. I knew my conures leaned a new word or phrase once in awhile. Not like when they were young and learned them left and right, but they still did. And I have the crazy Nanday who sometimes says an entire sentence out of the blue, never to say it again.
But, Pete has also leaned a couple of new things in the past week. Last week after we got back from the vet and he was upset, he told me, "Good boy" as if he was trying to tell me he's a good boy and I shouldn't have done that to him. That was the first time he said that. Tonight when I went to get dinner out of the oven he yelled, "Be right back!" Now that's something I say to them all the time to let them know I have to do something, but I'll be back soon. Also Rowdy says it to tell me she wants me back asap. As soon as Rowdy sees me putting on shoes or picking up my keys she will say, "Be right back?" in this pathetic little voice that makes me feel bad, lol!
