An Interview with Dos Ekkies

Very awesome video. Very beautiful birds. and great set up. Timneh doesn't like almonds at all not sure why just throws em on the ground. I forgot may I ask what the title of your book is?

Thank you!

Hahaha! My birds would likely dive headfirst after any almonds thus tossed by Timneh! I doubt they'd even reach the floor!

Thank you for asking about my book. I can't say the title just yet, as it is not published. I just went through it yet again, editing and pruning away. My wife, and everyone in my family who has read it, is yelling at me to stop tinkering and get the darn thing published already. Hahaha! (I've been editing it easily longer than I'd taken to write it.) But it's true what they say: a book is never finished, it is only abandoned.

I can say, however, that it is Science Fiction set in the distant future. And I'm resisting the urge (so far) to go back and tinker some more. Lol!

Thank you, Doc! Fantastic video of Dos Ekkies and I agree, it's been too long. It's always a treat to see you, Sir Jolly and Lady Maya interact. I have no questions about the power of those beautiful beaks, I have a scar from a bite I recieved years ago from a male Ekkie, my fault entirely of course but hard to forget. Gorgeous birds, Doc, happy, healthy, friendly and super photogenic. We know how hectic life can be but we will need more videos sooner rather than later.

About the book, I'm with your family on this one. Here's a quote sent to me not too long ago, I think it applies here as well.

"Trial lawyers are like painters. Every one of ’em needs a guy with a hammer standing behind him to hit him on the head when the painting’s finished.” Greg Isles

I love me some science fiction!! It's gonna be right up there with the greats. Hyperion and Dune are among my favorites.

Thank you, Huckleberry! I'll try to be more frequent with my video postings, my friend.

And I love that quote, though you'll understand if I don't share it with my wife? Last thing I need is to give her an excuse to come after me with a hammer! Lol!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!? You just officially made me geek out in public! Not cool! Lol! The Hyperion and Dune books are legendary! We obviously share taste in literature. Are you also a fan of Snow Crash, Neuromancer or The Forever War?

One of my all time favorite lines is from Snow Crash. "The Metaverse isn't real, but it beats the sh#t out of the U-Store It."

Classic! Cool points on that one! Has there actually been a science fiction community hiding in plain sight right under my nose?

Not just an incredible scientific presentation.... but incredibly cute too! :-D

So I’m revisiting this thread because I just read somethign elsewhere. Many are saying there are essentially two types of nuts: hard shell and soft shell. They say almonds are softer shell and their birds are fine with those.

How do lady maya and sir jolly respond to the accusation they couldn’t open a walnut to save their life?

Hmmm... well, they eat walnuts all the time, but I've never tried giving those in the shell. I want to say, "Challenge accepted", but I actually wonder if they could fit their beaks around one. Lol!

Should make for an interesting experiment...

I don't always read threads with posts about whole walnuts, but when I do, I prefer Dos Ekkies!

Bahaha! Dying here:18:

I highly doubt Ekko could tackle a walnut, but it would keep him busy for 5 minutes til he threw it at me.

Also a worthwhile experiment! Testing not only the might of ekkie beaks, but the strength and speed of their fastball specials! (Uhmmm... and Terry's agility as a bonus? Lol!)
