An Alex has stolen my heart:) Pic heavy

Well done and thanks for being his saviour. Its awful when you think you are doing something good for a birdy and they are petrified. I cant put into words how embarrassed I am to be human when we terrorise the animals in our lives - just because we can. Some people make me sick. My Kai is still so frightened of humans and hands. What did those people who I got him from, do to him. I have had him for over 2 years. Xander will flourish now, allowed to be himself. Thank you

He's very, very cute :) and has that shell-shocked appearance and expressions that neglected/abused birds have, but it's all up from here woo hoo! He's going to do a full 360*

As a foster carer for dogs I can't believe how some people treat animals! makes me so mad!!

On saying that, I'm so glad to hear he has a great home now! Congrats on your beautiful boy. Handsome Xander! That bright beak is lovely

I bet you are in heaven Terry
I know Alex sure thinks he is
He is absolutely a handsome chappy
Love his colouring
AND that beak well it speaks for itself

Xander is doing good today. He was quite excited to have more veggies and I am so happy he loved them from the start..makes that part easier:) He is running around now saying, "Come here, step up, Pretty Pretty bird!".
Thankfully he is over the trauma of the spray bottle from yesterday.

What a sweetheart. I'm so glad he found his way to you. Can't wait to hear more updates as he flourishes with his new family

That's a great thing you've done for a great bird. Alex's are such great friends and fun to hang out with...just don't EVER turn your back on an Alex parrot!

Uh oh...what if I turn my back??

man he looks bad :( poor guy, it will be awesome when he's healthy and goes through a molt.

awesome new cage he has!

Uh oh...what if I turn my back??

Let's just say they are most interested in chewing the things you love the most!

Makes sense...in the wild they don't have "possessions" obviously so anything you are especially protective of they will assume has something really tasty inside.

Of course I wouldn't trade the Tangobird for the world.

Mr Squak, I couldn't agree with you more: NEVER turn your back on an Alexandrine! They will eat your house and home with you in it!

They have a particular predilection for things like phone cords, network cables, recharging cables... Oh, and jewellery... Hair furniture... Door and window frames...

Yeah. House and home. Do not turn your back!

Great advice, Mr, Squak and Trish:) I am now keeping a close eye on the little chewer!

Oh that's so sad! How could someone think that's ok to feed a bird that! :( Thank you for rescuing him! He is in heaven now with that castle of a cage! Its perfect! And such a sweetie, he is adorable! :D

Aww, that is so sad. How can someone punish a bird? Bird's shouldn't be punished we are taking them out of their natural environment and what they do is not naughty :(
You can tell he/she is much happier now! Yay!:green2:

Handsome guy. Sad about his past, but he very clearly has nothing but amazing things ahead for him. He must be in awe of how good life can be <3
