I would love to read about the process you went through with Amigo.. I don't think you have written a lot about that, since Amigo was already free flying, when you joined the forum?

I heard about someone here in Australia, who had a Corella, which was very bonded to the dog... The dog slept outside, and the Corella wanted to sleep with the dog, so they allowed it... The bird eventually started to fly further and further away, but always came home for meals...

I have written about the process of getting him in the air on a post, been awhile ago. I'll try and find it.

Amigo probably does come home because he thinks I'm his mate, but I think, also, this is his territory and we are part of his flock. That includes the dogs!

love the pics :)

wild cockatoos in sierra foothills be another great film :)

Google in,"Cockatoo Downs". These women started free flying cockatoos, I forget when they started, and I believe they started as a type of sanctuary, in Napa Valley area of Calif. Fascinating story and they are now in the business of TEACHING free flight!

I, personally, think that no one but the person the bird is bonded with, can teach free flight. All other methods would not work.
