amazon parrot any advice would be great xx

Hi All
New to this site, and have joined to ask some questions, i have sombody who is selling a blue fronted amazon parrot i was going to get one for a baby but i believe that in most cases rehoming is best, i have done this with nearly all of my animals, the parrot is 9 years old and i have been searching the internet to see how parrots cope leaving there original owners and going to a new home, i know this parrot has a very strong bond with its owner and is very friendly to her and people he knows... what advise would people give :)

go visit the parrot is a must, find out as much about owners routines, food she feeds parrot, how she pets him and his general state of health etc

reasearch as much as you can on the species, as from what i read in here some types can be very vocal! and at odd times in the day and night!

mine was a second hand 1 and she is settling just fine, but they do take more patience then say a dog or a difficult child depending on the parrot, but the plus of forming the bond with a parrot is worth any hic-ups along the way :)

welcome to the forum
