I'm new to the online community, but had my first bird at 17. A budgie. Brilliant! He spoke in sentences.
This was in the early 1980's, when cockatiels and lovebirds were fairly new as pets in America.
I soon "graduated" to a cockatiel, and was asked to take in a pair of lovebirds, who were "too loud", shortly after that.
I've never looked back.
I love birds
I was part of a group who rescued parrots, long before we had the internet to help us learn and connect.
To be able to reach so many like minded people on one site, is a miracle to me.
I am finally living the life I always dreamed about. I have all of my days and nights to devote to my flock.
I am just another Bird Lover, I am here to learn and grow.
I live in California, on the Coast, right in the middle between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
My birds have their own room, but they are attached to the house, and don't really know they have an "aviary". They are central to my life. Always with me.
It's so nice to be with this flock.
What a wonderful world of bird people.
