Hello all,

My cinnamon green cheek, Nacho, always seems to be molting. He does not have any bald spots, so I don't believe he's plucking. I know I've read that most conures or birds have two big molts during the year. However with Nacho, I feel he always has some feathers on the bottom of his cage. It's not in excessive amounts but it's not just a couple feathers. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

Very Common!

Resulting from the normal change in Weather between Winter and Summer, most Parrot will have two major molts. However, the majority of feathers lost are body and downy feathers. When the molt occurs will change year to year depending on the Weather.

Flight feathers are schedule replacements over a year to as long as four years depending on the species.

So, it is common to find some feathers during the entire year.

Thank you so much for the reply! I was worrying I wasn't feeding him the proper diet. I appreciate it.
