Alexandrine no feathers behind neck?

Hey i have a 9 month old alexandrine that i got when he was 4 weeks old and he has a bold patch on the back of his neck the breeder told me he would be a boy so what im gathering is that what happens when they molt to get the red/black feathers there but better to just make sure :05:

Was he housed with other birds that may have plucked him? Does he scratch a lot behind his head? Bald spots aren't normal.
 
Weird... would like to see a closeup but just looking at it.. looks like one of his buddies over preened him big time. I had a bird some 35 years ago went totally nude from feather and beak syndrome... a heartbreaking disease, but it did NOT start in one lil spot then expand.. was more a gradual shedding then whatever quills did come back were few or deformed. Crossing fingers it was one of his friends.
