"Albert" - Female Red Bellied Parrot - 1y3m (Oct 8th, 2014), "Martha" - Unknown Yellow-Sided GCC - 11m (Feb 13th 2015)
Alright so rather than continually updating my thread in the New Members forum (http://www.parrotforums.com/new-members-welcome/50658-finishing-weaning-red-belly-yeesh.html), I decided it's better to accumulate all Albert-related things here.

Pic dump ahoy.

Some new pictures (actually old, but Albert is molting so he looks kinda scrubby ATM).

I'm glad you made a thread for him! Awesome! :) And of course he's gorgeous! Thanks for the photos and videos, I will be checking in here for updates. I need to get some videos of Duncan, that bird is talented beyond words, I have to wonder if he's older than two because he seems trick trained and he talks. Yesterday he waved his foot to me when I said 'hi' to him and he also asked me if I had any money Lol....that was pretty hilarious! He must have wanted to hit the 4th of July sales today or something lol. ....

These birds are really cool and highly underrated.

This is my life for 30m every morning, it's very hard to not laugh while filming.

What a cute video! :). I can't give those balls to Duncan because he chews off bits of plastic.

Great idea to start this thread for Albert! You can't possibly post too many photos of Albert, he's absolutely adorable. I really giggled at the last video of him playing with his ball and flipping over on his back. Thank you for sharing Albert's journey.

Just seeing this thread! I love it! And like Allee, I especially loved the video of Albert playing with the ball. Hilarious! Keep the updates coming. Good stuff.

Thanks everyone! Here's a couple of Albert posing happily (and less happily) in front of his sleeping cage. He's not even half-way through this molt, so he's still pretty scruffy.

So I'm about 75% sure that Albert is in fact a female; "he"'s been molting for about a month, and ~25% of "his" chest is coming in gray/green. Super fancy pigeon!

WOW what a shock to hear!! Alberta?? :11:. The females are really pretty too I think! Some even have an orange wash to them.

ps... Robin was hoping that Albert was around for his 21st birthday bash on July 31st.

Albert is gorgeous! I love how he rolls on his back to play. Buddy won't play with a ball because it will eat him. Venus though will, but I would so love to see them roll around like Albert.

He or she is really cute! Do you have name ideas if a girl?

I'm pretty sure we're just going to keep calling her Albert, as she already says "Hi Albert!" when we come in the room, and responds to recall commands of "Albert, come!".

Hahaha! I know your pain. That's how I wound up with a male cockatiel named Suzie! For maybe a year we thought he was a she. Then I learned more about cockatiels and realized that we'd done the little guy wrong. But it was too late by that point, so we spent the next 16 or 17 years calling him by a girl's name.

I think it toughened him up, though. Lol!

Princess Albert, Miss Albert... Cute! Lots and lots of birds have opposite gender names so it doesn't matter.

Robin was named knowing he was a male, but 90% of people would say "she or her" when they'd hear his name. It's a unisex name! Same with my boy Raven lol.

I think you can rename them though, Both my red bellies are pre-loved, recycled birds with different names. I recently found out Duncan's former name was Doobie but in just the short time I've had him he responds to Duncan and even says his new name. With Griffin, I don't what his former name was.

Albert is a bit slow. She can't decide whether getting up or holding on to the popsicle stick is more important.
