:grey: hello to all.. i just rescued a 30 year old african grey .Here is a little history on him.. His previous owned has dementia, and cannot dedicate the time that this bird needs.. he is very vocal with me , and basically every one he comes into contact with.. The problems I am having with him are very minor, the first being that he is a horrible feather plucker, he is almost completly bald from the neck down on both sides. I am a manager at a pet store so i have access to alot of different resources.. One local bird store suggested a homeopathic drop for him that goes in his drinking water... the second issue is that he isnt stepping up.. he tries to bite.. do i just need to work on the trust with him? any help you can provide would be much appreciated

Have you taken the bird to the Avian Vet? It could be a physical problem or nutritional one, or something else. Have you thought about getting a bird collar so the bird can't chew or pull it's feathers? A vet advice is the best suggestion. Good luck!

The homeopathy drop won't do anything but the above advice and article will serve you well. Get him to a vet, look at the diet, work with him slowly and see what happens. Good luck!
