Advice on customizing this...

I want to make one of these. But for the dashboard, since hubby drives and I'm in the passenger seat 99% of the time. Any ideas on how I could do it??

Myself, I think it looks dangerous. What if you had to stop suddenly? The results could be bad.

I didn't think about that. What a bad parront I am! I bought a ton of PVC pipe tonight to make an indoor perch for the surfaces in the house. I was. Gonna use the rest for that. But now I'm just gonna make a suction cup one for the shower instead! Thanks.

PS- My fids love the shower perch I made them, hope yours do too. =)

The suction cup ones for the shower also work on the car windows. Safety and air bags should always be considered.

I agree--- very dangerous. I have a friend who had a macaw loose in the car during a car accident. The parrot died.

I'm gonna go "against the grain" here (yea I know, big surprise )

IMO, ain't no different than the hazards of every day life, I know a LOT of people that travel with their birds on perches in vehicles on a regular basis. How many of y'all "worry" about your bird being flown to you by your breeder? How do you take your bird to the Vet? I actually know someone that was in a really bad wreck WITH a loose bird in it, the bird came out a LOT better than the person did. As with all things, just use common sense, I know of a few designs for "car perches" for birds.

My bird (ReaRea) makes many trips in my van and just sits on the headrest, I've yet to have an issue and she really enjoys it.

yep and when the poop is dried you can just crape the crust off and it turns to powder no staining and yes always make sure the air bag is off on the passenger seat if your bird is there.
