Accidently came home with another bird....

How can he look at that face and be mad.... Blush or yours :)

Remind him better or worse, good or bad, cockatiels and conures :) what I thought those were the standard vows....

Is there anything he collects or likes? My hubby's big boy soft spot is remote planes.... I think he has as many as we do birds. Distract him with something shiny, usually works..,, I love you Byron if you happen to read this over my shoulder.... love you, mean it. :)

tbh, yesterday was just a bad day for him, then I walk thru the door with yet another bird....sigh.....all he sees in $$$$$ going out the window, when bills need to be paid....ok I get it. BUT that bird doesn't come along everyday, she would have been snatched up by someone else very quickly....but the bills would still be there. we always pay our bills on time.

had I been into birds when we were married back in 1990, I would have put the cockatiel and conures part in the vow for sure!!!! ha ha

as for a hobby, other than golfing and smoking...uggg....so sure a good chuck of our money goes up in smoke on a monthly basis....and every now and then I put in a little comment here & there about the cost of it....

I tried that once, that is why I'm not allowed to go to the pets shops by myself without a chaperone:)

Matter of fact, it's soooooo funny when I can't get my wife to do certain things, but if I mention going to the pet store or flea market to pick up some bird stuff, she can't get in the car quick enough.

She is really beautiful, do not think I've ever seen another like her. ..

But boy do I hate when those kind of accidents happen... Just shopping minding your own business and holy cow, how did THAT fall into my cart . . happens to me with boots too. I tripped and my card fell into the swipe slot... And they said no returns. I so hate when that happens.

What a beautiful accident :).

me too!!!....I hate it when those boots just fly right into the cart, at one point I owned over 40 pairs of shoes.....just shoes, never mind my boots, and runners.

once I realized I had waaaaay too many pairs, I stopped buying them, and switched to birds:rolleyes:

Oh yeah, I can SO see how that accident must have happened. I bet she just fell right into your purse, right? :D :D

STUNNING girl, Beth! Many congrats on your new girl. :)

the reason I say this is because I pay him back for every bird I purchase, every cage I buy etc.....but he does pay for the food and any vet bills.... I paid him back more than 1/2 for Safari's medical bill of $1700.00....so when he gets mad, it's a slight tantrum, but he soon forgets when I pay him back, which won't be long, as my nursery is full of babies, and fertile eggs.

talk about taking the fun out of bringing a new bird home....sheeeesh! :) :)

So, your husband has you on a 'budgie't? No wonder you got another bird! :09:

She is lovely,we used to own a on just like that her name was baily but my sister called it spacebeast and it kind of stuck.

I have to really sweet talk my husband when I want another bird! I start acting sugary sweet and he knows I want something!! I normally, ok always, end up getting my own way!! Tbh though after rescuing Tiny it was a real opener for me with the cost of her vet bills so I think I will stop at 6 tiels for now

I need to show your post to my husband.... look what will happen if you don't let Victoria and me buy more boots.... oh brilliant..... we are already up to 10 birds, so think we are safer sticking with the boot problem.... :20:

either way, what ever you buy it's a win win!

Awwww! She's beautiful! That definitely qualifies as a happy accident! I love the name Blush.

Jen, you're too funny. Distract him with something shiny, that's good thinking. My husband's at a disadvantage. He has a Ducati, so if he complains about bird expenses, I remind him how much a tire for his motorcycle costs. It helps that he really likes the birds too.

Beth she's absolutely the cutest little thing! That sweet face! :) ooh and the color is really beautiful. I don't blame you! I also like the name Blush for her. How cute.

Perhaps, in view of your reformed shoe habit, you could call your new girl Imelda :)?

Lol Mike :) that would be a good name too.

I have an athletic shoe 'collection'. I have maybe 14 pairs? Nike has the fun colors, but my favorite for function and comfort are Asics.
Ok sorry OT, but since we were also talking about shoe obsessions ;)

I don't have a shoe "obsession" but I once lived on a remote island that had an upmarket tourist clientele, and several shoeshops. So when stuff was on special, ends of lines, that sort of thing I'd pick up nice European shoes quite cheaply, and still have many of them. On a day- to-day basis I wear cheap stuff or workboots to work, and sandals around the yard, so they'll last ages :)

I'd thought of Imelda because I heard the Mark Knopfler song on my car stereo that day (it's one of my faves and is on a thumb drive, which my stereo takes).
