Absorbine and parrots?

I injured my neck and shoulder, and before I even thought of it, I put the Absorbine liquid on my shoulder. My conures sleep in my room. I know they shouldn't touch the treated area, but will the smell be a problem?

I can crack the bedroom window and run a fan.

Would the smell be too much of an issue in a room with a closed door? I have a cat that I keep out of the room via the door.

Thre scent isn't horrible but it's noticable.

Not familiar with Absorbine, seems to be a veterinary liniment for horses? Could not find links for parrots, but more importantly is this MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) https://www.horse.com/ContentFiles/Associated_Content/vetlinimentMSDS.pdf

I'd use extreme caution with parrots as a prime caution is "Inhalation of vapors can cause anesthetic effect leading to death in poorly ventilated areas."

Always err on the side of caution tbh, you cannot bring them back if the worst happens hun. If you really need to use it then pop them in another room for the night. Have you tried those microwave heated beanies for your shoulder instead?

I wouldn't use it in the same room with them---especially if you will be sleeping and so will they--it means that if they did have any signs of distress, you wouldn't see it until it was way too late.

I have read several sad stories where their parrots distress was seen and acted upon but to no avail so the best course of action is not to use anything that is even a possible.
