A place to land is a nice short video, about 27 min. I watched it steaming last night. I am passing a link about it on to anyone interested:

So sad, sometimes I feel like part of the problem, instead of a solution. My guy is healthy & happy, but there are sooo many! :(

I'm crying so much from the trailer, I don't know if I CAN watch the DVD. ( In a 1 foot by 1 foot cage? for 17 years! )

Wasn't that just deplorable. Poor little too. This is why I fully believe breeding more birds should be somehow limited in numbers. We should take care of the homeless and abused birds first. OK guess I will get off my soap box before I make some people mad at me.

No, I hear you, Spiritbird. There were reasons I wanted to adopt older birds rather than get a new baby when my conure died. I admit, part of it was my age, but part of it was to give existing birds a new home. I've never had a kitten as a house cat either. I know the kittens usually find homes, but not many people want to adopt an adult. 2 of my 3 dogs were also adults when I took them in. And the only reason the 3rd one wasn't was because I took my dog to the shelter to pick a friend and he insisted on that puppy. I suspect it was because he was a Dalmatian and the puppies were half Dalmatian, and looked almost full blooded. So I got him the puppy, lol!

You have a kind heart Roxy. Merlin could not be in a better home than yours. Sure she has been expensive but she needed you.

I needed her, too. She is so much like the conure I lost in October, and she has helped heal a hole in my heart. I told the vet that today when she commented how she loved watching us together, and then she said we needed each other, and I said yes, we did.

She is even now singing, "Pretty bird" the way Briana used to do. Bri never said it, she thrilled it out. I did it one day for Rowdy and Merlin picked it right up.

Yes, Roxy, as I've told you before, you are doing a superb job with her. And taking such good care of her. I know how that can be.
