Am I going to need one to own a Mac? LOL! How much do you spend on your Mac's besides initial costs? I know mac's cost more then the smaller birds to keep but not exactly sure how much I should expect to spend a month? Or on vet bills? I want to either set up an emergency account for my Mac or get health insurance but not sure which I'll do yet as I'm not sure what all the costs are.

Setting aside emergency funds is ALWAYS a great idea. One never knows when that money can come in handy

As for monthly costs for a Macaw. Hmm. I can tell you I spend about $200 per month for my flock. That includes all foods, including fresh fruits, veggies, treats, birdie bread, and homecooked stuff.

I make my own toys, so I save oodles right there, especially since both my Macs seem to be in competition on who destroys the most wooden blocks in a day. :54:

I am chuckling to myself because I have had my blue and gold for less than 3 months and already spent about a thousand dollars on vet bills. Phew bird care is expensive when it comes to their medical care!!!
