Thanks everyone! I can see why she instantly fell in love. They are so darn cute!

As for color she doesn't care. She really likes the idea of the bird picking her. :D

Personally, I love the blue! :D

U2Gal - They really are. I have only read good things about these birds!

So I talked to the breeder again today and asked her a bunch of questions! Sounds like she does a great job at socializing them. They are out of there cage most of the day. She also lets them fledge and fly before getting adopted. She said not usually long because it's hard to have a lot of birds flying around all the time but she does let them fly so they learn. She has some eggs right now and hopes they are fertile. I guess the last clutch was not. So she doesn't want to jinx herself and tell me she has babies just yet. They take about 7-8 weeks to wean. So that would be the perfect time frame we are looking at! I will be in touch with her and as soon as she knows that she will have some babies and these eggs are in fact fertile we will put down a deposit! So exciting! I will keep you posted!

u2gal...couldn't have said it better myself. Linnies eyes are like pools of black ink... so pretty :)

I can't believe you found a linnie breeder!!, they are not easy to find. I am so happy you looked into my suggestion.

every colour is gorgeous, and the birds are super sweet ~~you won't be disappointed

the only thing you really have to watch for is that they LOVE to HIDE under blankets, pillows, cushions, even things on the floor, such as clothes.

...anything they can crawl under. Extra caution needs to be remembered before you sit down, or walk around.

I'm a cockatiel fan, they're amazing little birds, plus they got those super cool crests, like come on!

All serious-ness though, I love cockatiels, so friendly and happy looking. I know it will be my next bird for sure =)

Wings - There eyes are just beautiful! Morgan is so excited. That's all she has been talking about!

Crimson - Thank you for the warning. I will talk to both my kids about that and my hubby so when we do have him/her we don't have any accidents! Thanks again for the suggestion, when she mentioned Linnies I remember that they were suggested on this thread. So I am so glad you mentioned it before I called her. Otherwise, I may have never looked into it further. Thanks again!

Akraya - I know tiels are great. I've only heard nothing but good things. We almost went with a Lutino Tiel, but my daughter just fell head over heels for a linnie! Thanks for your input though! :)

You are going to have to change your siggie (the linnie is still a fid :)) and your "parrots" status under your "about me" section :D

I know! I finally learned how to cut people or things out of photos so I can do my own sigs in photoshop! So I am ready once I get her little linnie! I know she will be one of "my" fids, too. Even though she is my daughters bird! :D

Ok...so I heard from the breeder. I emailed her a couple of days ago and with hesitation (I will explain) she emailed me back. She has 2 babies in the nest right now. A male and a female. She tends to lose her baby females from this pair of breeders so she was hesitant to email me because she didn't want to jinx herself. So I need these two little babies in everyone's thoughts and prayers. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed that they both make it. She says "Don't count your Linnie's until they are weaned!" Morgan is hopeful the female will make it. She is a red eye and will be a lutino or a creamino. So exciting! :D

I'm sorry, this is off-topic, but I *had* to tell this story!

My husband's uncle is an animal maniac like most of us here. He has a massive flight aviary which takes up his whole backyard and he specialises in large cockatoos, both white and black. He also has reptiles.

So, regarding the danger of people sitting on a parrot...

One day, the vicar came to visit. He was ushered in and shown into the front room while Aunty Chris got tea and cakes. Suddenly, she heard a squawk from the front room and the poor vicar came rushing out. He'd sat on the two metre Diamond Python who was snuggled under the cushions on the lounge. Upset, the poor python rose up to its full height and looked the vicar fair in the eye. I think that's when the poor man made the decision to flee.

'Oh!' said Chris, 'Thanks for that! We'd been wondering where he got to. He disappeared after his last shedding...'

The vicar didn't stay for tea.
