So I went for a hike with my dog. The whole time I was thinking I wish I could hike with my bird. So I did a search and found this video.

I love it.

Truly beautiful, what an astonishing flock! Thanks for sharing this video, it's a joy to watch!

Wet blanket checking in.
I'd be afraid of eagles and coyotes.
Back out West, a coyote took my kitty right off my back porch. And a member of a parrot club I was in had a mid-size parrot grabbed off her shoulder by a Golden Eagle.
Wet blanket, peace, out. :)

I must admit my heart was in my throat the whole way through (I was thinking EAGLES!!!) but still, how beautiful they are flying so freely!

I've seen a bird in mid flight plucked from the air about 3m infront of my face by what I believe was a sparrowhawk. The bird it caught was dragged to the ground screaming and was eaten about 10m from where I was stood
That's why I could never free-fly any parrot round here!

There's a video out there of a hawk /eagle taking a cockatoo right off a guys shoulder in the middle of a demonstration. at a bird show.

It was one of the Zoos bird of prey that goes after the Zoos cockatoo. That is a little different than a wild bird of prey. They might starve the Hawk to perform so he desperate for food.

These Zoos are so Stupid. There is another one where a captive hawk it let go at a show too soon and tries to take out a parrot that was doing his tricks.

The other day on a walk I saw a Kestler on the road eating a steller jay he had just caught because the others Jays were really upset. I would never free fly any bird smaller than a large Macaw. I feel the size of a macaw would help keep birds of pray away.

I would love to give my birds the gift of free-flight, but there are so many raptors in my area. They'll just have to enjoy flying around the house!
