3 week old baby!

The crop needs to be completely emptied every time you hand feed!!!! You do not feed unless the crop is empty cause your only putting fresh food on top of old food which can cause sour crop, infection, so fourth so on. Like I've said, you need to get a brooder! During night time must chilled enough for him to be cold and I've told you in prior posts that it can cause slow digestion which is not good. You keep it up like this you'll be going into the vet clinic getting the crop sac flushed and giving anti-biotics costing you more money then just getting the brooder.

Hand feeding baby chicks is NOT that simple or a easy process that most people seem to think. You don't just go out and purchase an unweaned baby just because it's cheaper then adults. And no it's false that they will be tamer just because you hand fed them yourself. You really should evaluate your situation and maybe think about bringing the baby back to the breeder and allow them to wean him for you. I strongly suggest you in doing so!!!!

I have to ask...as someone who does not know the intricacies of raising an unweaned and very young baby bird, WHY would you have chosen to do this, and put the baby at risk with your inexperience? Sorry if that sounds harsh, but this baby is so fragile...even experienced people can have problems with such a young one! :(
