I can't believe how much they still HATE each other! I just baked a fresh homemade honey stick which Coconut is eating and Rascal won't go near it so long as Coconut is chewing on it... they don't like the honey sticks they sell in stores... they much prefer homemade ones which smell like toasted coconut... yummy :p

Ignore that annoying watermark the free trial software I used for editing the video stuck on it.

EDIT: Why is the video cam on my new samsung note 5 such terrible quality!!! :(

I posted recipe on this forum before and just tried to search for it but it's not pulling up in the search! :(

It's SUPER easy to make and super fast. I never measure anything so below is approximate to make one big honeystick which lasts a long time:

-- 1 cup of any seed mixture of your preference
-- shredded coconut however much you want
-- 1/2 cup of rolled oats (this helps everything stick together so it's a must)
-- 2 tablespoons of agar agar (which is a plant based substitute for gelatin) as I don't go near gelatin for a myriad of reasons (Vegan here... but that's just one reason many).
-- honey or date syrup (however much you want). Date syrup is what I prefer as it's just made out of dates.

I just boil about one cup of water with the agar agar in it which brings it to a watery paste like consistency and then pour it into the dry ingredients (mix together) and then put it into a tiny bread pan (use parchment paper so it doesn't stick). Bake for 30 min at 325 degrees... then wait an hour so you can remove honeystick from the pan (must wait an hour so it has cooled down or it will fall apart) and leave the honeystick on a cooling rack overnight to finish drying out and then it's done and ready to go! :D

I use zip ties to secure it onto cage bars.. works really well! I also keep the dry mixture in a storage container so that the next time I make a honeystick the dry mixture is all ready to go and takes less than 5 min to make a new honeystick.

This is soooo weird... earlier it was very blurry and now it's clearer.. but not nearly as sharp as others I have seen. I don't know why =(

... but the reason I now make my own honeysticks is because I bought SEVERAL different kinds at the store and they REFUSE to eat it! It's been sitting in their cage for months and they won't touch it! Even when the homemade one is not offered to them and they have no other option. They will only eat the homemade ones those bastards.
