Well the story starts about a 1 1/2 months ago when we started talking to a couple about adopting their greenwing Rizzo. A very loved and charished member of the family. Due to medical issues they had to rehome him. So we went and visited Rizzo a few times and after carefull consideration we went ahead and adopted him. He is doing real good and already steps up and lets me scratch his head. He's not to fond of my hubby yet but my hubby will win him over in no time. No one can resist his charms. Well Rizzo came home wed. Today is Fri. We were at our lps and the owner is a very good friend of ours. Last night someone dropped of their catalina macaw to him. She is all dirty and and the most loving thing you have ever met. My hubby fell in love with her instantly and she came home with us this morning. :31:So now we are officially nuts. lol. We now have 4 macaws and a grey. All very loved and very well cared for but wow....It will be more work but it's worth it. They are all incredable birds...even Bayshing who wants to kill me i love her dearly. She makes me laugh at least twice a day. Wish me luck. I just gave birth to quints...:blue1::blue1::red1::red1:

Cool :) Only having one Macaw myself ,it will be interesting to hear the difference in their personalities! I have a Catalina and shes wonderful [tell your husband :)] I live in upstate ny [are you near me?]

We are in syracuse. Not sure were clifton springs is. So far the catalina is very sweet. She is great with my hubby a lttle standoffish with me but still tolerates me holding her. Rizzo the greenwing he seems to be the opposit. He likes me but not my hubby. Fawx our greenwing loves everyone (still a baby though) lol.. And Bayshing the harlaquin hates me but is good with my hubby. She's not lovey dovey like the others but she lets him hold her and and steps up for him. But she still wont let him pet her yet. But i am sure she will someday. He dont give up. lol.

your very close to me 1 hr away [near canandaigua]

I just looked at pics of your baby's. They are beautifull. Your catalina is very pretty. Dolly's feathers are all beat up right now. She looks like she was never given a bath. We gave her one tonight and hopfully she will look better when she dries. She was a little nurvous but handled it rather well considering. Poor baby's was droped of at the petstore with her cage and their were no toys. only 2 perches and one was broken. They weren't even in front of her food and water bowls. She would have had to hang on to the sides of the cage to eat. Rizzo was well cared for though, He was loved very much by his mom. She just is unable to take care of him anymore. Poor thing. We will be spoiling them rotten from now on though. How long have you had your catalina???

Your lucky to have all those Macaws :) Whats fun about rehomes is you never know what their going to say LOL .My Harlow will be 2 in may :)

haha you are nuts with 4 try 7.. last night they were all laughing at once i thought i was gonna have to check into a pysch ward;). macaws are great glad to hear about it and look forward to hearing more!

I dont know her birthday but Polly(now Holly) we were told is 2. Rizzo is 12, Bayshing is around 35, and Fawx is a wopping 7 months. lol. My grey Jessie is 4 1/2. Fawx and Jessie are ours since baby's. The rest of the macaws are rehome's. Are all of your baby's rehomes?

all of my birds are rescues;), ive never raised a baby myself, yet... i do plan to once i am through schooling and so on. It is me and my father who do the birds all through rescue, but i think i have earnt myself one baby down the road;).

Cute [Polly now Holly] Harlow ive had since she was weaned .Im grateful for the experience .Shes taught me alot [I feel I understand them better] I just love them I would take any of them [weaned ,rescued or rehomed im not picky :) ]

Lol this reminds me of my family we all love birds. We are not adding to the flock anymore but when i lived at home we were. We even had this conversation people are going to think we are nuts! It all worked out living at home we helped each other with our birds. 3 is perfect for me at this point and time in my life. Congrats on your new additions! I hope to see some pics =)

Wow, talking about a growing family! LOL! Sounds like they are all in a wonderful place. Like you said, "It's worth it"! Good luck and congrats!

I am so envious! I have wanted a macaw of my own from 9 years old on. At 42 thats been a long time. I would love a GW or B/G. Would love a fledgling but would never turn away a rescue. Parrots just add so much to our lives.

My wife recently bought me a t-shirt that says, "M B S ", "multiple bird syndrome". Because of all my birds. (I used to have a Grey named "Jessye".)

I love the t-shirt. lol. I am thrilled to have all these guys now. I am sure the hard parts are comming with having to gane the trust of 2 new birds at the same time. Along with still trying to gane the trust of Bayshing. And Fawx being a baby is still very demanding of attention. She will sit on her perch look at me and continue swauking like "mom...mom...mom....mom...i know your there.....mom..."
