hi i am from malta and i have 2 conures

one of them is for sure female because she layed 5 eggs on the floor of the cage

and the other one i dont know what is it.

i saw them the other one feed the female in her mouth

could it be a male????

and because she layed them on the floor of the cage can they hatched if they are fertile???

thankyou

- sounds most likely that you do have a pair.
- yes they could hatch on the floor of the cage but isn't recommended. If you can, get a nest box (cockatiel size works) as soon as possible. Fill it with shredded news paper for nesting material, attach it to the cage, and carefully transfer the eggs into the box. The parents should follow and still take care of the eggs.
- hope this helps, and keep asking;)
- oh and welcome to the forums, keep us posted.

Just because you see them feed each other doesn't mean you have a male and female. Two females can and do go through the mating ritual and can lay eggs. Parrots generally lay an egg every other day, so if you find that two eggs were laid in one day or an egg laid every day, you probably have two females!

As the previous poster said, yes the eggs could hatch (if fertile) on the cage floor, but it's not recommended.

How old are your conures and what species are they? If they are separate species and end up being separate sexes as well, it might be recommended to destroy the eggs and not allow them to hatch if there is any possibility of them being fertile.
