Hi, everyone! I have an 18 week old Severe who is still in the weaning process. He is eating handfeed from a bowl on his own and has not had any trouble. Tonight, however, he was in a feeding frenzy - now he keeps making a croaking noise (not unusual for him) nonstop (unusual). Anyone have any idea of what may be going on? He's still willing to eat more food and seems to be acting fine - except for the croaking and what sounds like a little sigh after the croaking noise. Thoughts?

no clue. I have a 2 year old B&G that I have had a few months now.... he is in a constant "bahhhhhhhh" sound. I thought he was crying and sad because he missed his old people but people here say its a Happy Mac sound.

Since yours is so young, maybe he is just finding his voice? maybe?

Im not sure hopefully someone may know. Is there any chance the food went down wrong, and some may have gotten in his lungs? I know when Hahnna was small, she started makng what sounded to me like a wheazing noise and her voice was a bit different. It turned out she had an upper respiratory. We took her right away to the vet but I remember thecfirst thing he checked for was to see if any food went down wrong. Goid luck and I hope all is ok.

Thank you both for the responses. I think that he is, in fact, attempting to find his voice. Once I stopped panicking, it was actually kind of cute. He has also started "sighing" at me - which is mildly annoying, but completely adorable. Combining the croaks and sighs was new for him, though, so I was freaking out a little bit.

Aww I am glad that is all it is. I know Hahnna was my first Macaw, she is a mini ( Hahns) and her noises were much different then the noises of my U2. Good luck with your baby.
