10 Years ago today I had a bad ice-skating accident, that left my right hand basically un-usable.

It is a public holiday here today Heritage Day we name it
'Bloody Heritage Day' after my accident.

Steven wished me Happy Handyversary Day...:p
Sean phoned and wish me Bloody Heritage Day :p
It is amazing just how much they remember and in detail, pertaining to the accident.

Dr's said......
I would never drive a car again with both hands, must get an automatic.
Drive around for about a year (manual) using one hand, and today using both hands to drive.

I would never right again using my right hand - learnt to write with my left hand Today I write with both hands
I have already began Calligraphy again

Having never crochet before, I persevered and crochet a beautiful cloth, and two scarves.

I still have severe nerve symptoms, no one can touch my hand EXCEPT MISHKA

Never underestimate the human spirit.

Happy Heritage Day Ant :) I am so glad the Drs were proved wrong and you are still able to do what they predicted you would never do again:)

Oh gosh, I know the horrors of wearing one of those splints, I was in and out of splints/casts for 10 months due to a wrist injury as well!

I am glad to see you have been able to use your hand again, despite what the drs have said! :)

Thanks ...
All in in I wore 24 different splints over a period of 3 years, that was tough

Some of the splints have cracked over the years....... Plastic ones.

I think I have only 3 left.... as they crack, they get chucked out

Happy BLOODY handiversary. <-- That has a sinister ring to it though.

You must be one determined lady, hats off to you! And I can't imagine how painful it had to have been, and how devestating to you (and your loved ones).

SO glad you defied the odds and the doctors' premonitions.

You go girl! :)

Got through it with the love and support of my two sons. They were only 13 and 11 years old.
They took over my business, as small as they were, carried stock, packed, telephoned customers and did the invoicing.

I would not have got through it without them, bless them forever
