So I've been wanting to make a cargo net for the fids. (Thanks Blackhawk for the helpful videos!) Bella and Zora's will be 44" by 52". (Counting the two 2" stray pieces on each length of it) It will be made of Manila rope with 8" squares. I've calculated everything for the length (knots, extra pieces, the strands themselves, etc.) using 1/2" rope, but is that too small for two 60 gram GCCs? Should I go any bigger? I think it will be fine as it is but I just want your opinion. :) Thank you!

I personally think for green checks that is a good size. I wouldn't image going any bigger would be good as they have small feet so yea sounds great:)

Thank you! :) Other opinions are welcome too!

Unless you have small hands, many peoples fingers are about 1/2" in diameter....have one of your GCCs perch on your finger & look at how far around the toes & talons go.....if they have a 1/4" up to 3/8" space (talon point to talon point), between their toes, that should be a comfortable size, but if the talons touch or bypass, you would need a larger diameter for them to be able to comfortably grip the rope.....

Would a 13 year okd's hand be alright?:p In the case, 1/2" will be fine. :)

Hmmmm, given that I've never seen a 13 year OK'ds hand I don't know, but if you can find a 13 year old's hand with 1/2" diameter finger, yep, that should work.....

Well JT, I'll admit it was quite a while ago, but that's OK, cause I keep a list of all the 20 dollar bills that I've stuck in my pocket because of someone not believing my true age.....ain't it sweet ! ! !

i bought one for cooper( a quaker) and he is bigger than most GCCs and his is only 1/4'' rope. he can walk on it fine. his feet make it pretty much all the way around the rope. it acually gives him a GREAT grip on it so he does crazy tricks and hangs upside down and swings around and stuff. it is so funny! ill have to post a video sometimes. anyways, i think 1/2'' would be okay.

That size sounds like it will work just fine.

I ordered the rope (a bit more than 120 feet though I'll know I got about double than what I needed. I guess this will be for making rope 'vines' and things like that. Also for Oliver's mini-net.), I can't wait to get started. I'm going to go over all my calculation again for the millionth time, lol

just make sure the net is big enough to hold you after I bonk you on the head, kidnap you and then throw you in Miri's cage. :54::18:
