So the Christmas Palms are loaded with large red fruit. The zons are going crazy over them. I tried one,,, didn't see what all the "fuss" is about.

Stacie loves them. Loads of Vit A and a big nut inside.

It's the old "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" syndrome...or...maybe it's that your taste buds are not attuned properly.....

Too bad I can't grow my own in New England!! :(

AWESOME! You are lucky Richard!! Those things cost an arm and a leg here...just like Pine Nuts. I was dumb enough to try a pine nut once, figuring since they are SO expensive, they ought to taste like the best thing in the world. YUCK! To me it tasted like gnawing on a WET pinebark. :30:

These are some of the nuts i collected. The large ones are from last week in Miami , the medium ones are from Fort Meyers and the small ones are from the Philipine Islands where they grow wild. The wild ones from the Philipines are the ones i really want to grow as they are more amazon size. I just planted a ton , hope they sprout!!! BTW you know i didn't smuggle those ones from the PI

Richard, you don't have to make a special trip for me! Please...remember, I WILL be ordering more perches from you just as soon as we get back from Georgia. ;)

You are truly THE BEST!!! Thank you - for everything. From the bottom of my heart!!!

Those nuts look fantastic!!!

When you say "planted" some of them, I look out my window, and what do I see??? SNOW!!! LOL. Definitely time to start thinking of WHERE we want to live once Alex retires.

Pretty Amazon. Quick ? I have Palm trees full of nuts outside and wanted to try them out but I was told to avoid them at all costs due to pesticides. Did you plant them yourself? Thanks

The Christmas palms i found in places where i can't guarantee . The ones from the PI where growing wild and i have no doubt that no one could or would afford to put out pesticides or even fertilizer. Those are the trees i'm trying to grow. The other nuts /fruit i gathered where from places that i doubt anyone was caring for. The Queen Palm nuts are grown here on my property, all organic and with out any pesticides. But it's the wrong time of year for them.I do have loads of the dried seeds that don't have "flesh"/fruit on them, but the zons still love to crack them open. Christmas palms in my area are rarier and most are in peoples yards where i can't get to . The Christmas palm fruit are so beneficial and basic that the local feral parrots eat them regularly and the local birds fight over the 'scrapes". I'm working hard to get some going and just started to sprout about 50 of the Xmas palms. Hope they go.

I live between Tampa and Sarasota, i'm not sure what pesticides are used around your house , but i avoid areas that are sprayed for mosquitoes. In my yard i use no pesticides and natural fertilizer.

Weather is the pits,,, we lost power and still don't have it. Good thing the old generator still works.
