Has anyone used this for birds? My Bird Groomer asked if I would check and see if anyone has used it before and what they thought of it.

Thanks,
Mike

I've not used for the birds, but, I've used the humans version. It's a homeopathic concoction. It soothes your nerves, and calms anxiety. It was actually pretty good. Made from essential oils of various flowers. I can't imagine how it could hurt the birds. Probably works well for these hormonal times. For that, its worth a try!

I know plenty of people that have used it for dogs, cats and wildlife but I have no idea about it's safety or effectiveness for birds, have you tried calling the company and asking them?

I use it all the time if needed. It's part of my birdy first aid kit. Just 1 drop in the beak works wonders with a stressed parrot.

So it helps calm them down? And you don't have to put it in their mouth, just on the outside of the beak? Gee, something like that might have been nice for Merlin before she was shipped to me since she got so stressed by the experience.

In what circumstances do you use it, Pedro?

Roxy I put just a drop on their tongue or just inside the beak. The taste is pleasant. 1 drop for the bird & if i am stressed 4 drops for me. LOL.

It's good for Vet visits, or transporting a bird from A to B. I wouldn't use it on all birds. Just the ones that are a bit nervous. It just takes the edge off & calms them a bit. The ingredients are Rock Rose, Impatiens, Clematis, Star of Bethlehem, Cherry Plum in a grape alcohol solution.

But for the most part i keep it on hand for when i get to anxious or am upset by something.

Well, something like that might have been nice for the birds the day my disabled cousin was here. Rowdy knew right off she hated birds and just kept screeching. And it didn't help any of them that she was trying to climb over furniture and falling down because she was afraid to walk on the floor because it put her closer to their cages. Merlin was pretty stressed as well. I can also see it being helpful for vet visits and traveling. Tomorrow Merlin has to go back to the vet and there is a high wind warning. The wind passing over my truck sounds like a tornado when that happens since it is so flat and wide open out here.
