Disclaimer: We purchased Clarke because we wanted to help Clarke. We thought he had more to give and we could help him come out of his shell. We assumed he was a misunderstood bird, but he had been well looked after. He was more of a rehome than a rescue, and he was absolutely an impulse buy. We just got lucky. We also started with seperate cages. But every single night, this is what I was splitting up:

So now, they share. I knew the warnings - the fact that MBS needs to be for the human, not the fid - there are no guarantees. But this really really worked, for all of us. Clarke is chatty and happy and growing more confident with humans every day, and Henry hasn't lost his shoulder/charm the kids classroom/independent but happy with humans nature. I know as Clarke hits sexual maturity, he may be a she and we migh have some issues. I know that I need to be careful about each parrots individual training to sustain what we have with them. But for now, I'm just enjoying seeing them be parrots together.
Attached is a photo from the other night, where Clarke snuggled into the fleecy blanket and then lay quietly after calling Henry over for skritches. So friggen cute. You may have to rotate the photos, sorry - on ipad. Clarke is fine, promise - this is round two after seeing him laying like that gave me a hell of a fright, and so I had had them both up and flying. Henry didn't do that on his own - its a bit of a learning experience!
