I've been so scared and in shock, abd nit really able to process...
Here is how it's gone down. Yesterday morning she was very active into mischief and eating. When I went to put her in the cage fir the night, was my first sign. Normally when I put her in the cage at night, she goes right for her seeds and munches. Last night she did not. I was like hmmm...but really did not think much of it.
This morning she was flat out sick! Puffed, squint eyed. I freaked. I got all her favorite foods and treats and offered to her. She wouldn't touch anything, turned her head. I put my radiant heat panel on her. Have her some doxyclin. Then made oatmeal to see if she would eat that. She are a very tiny amount. Then had explosive diarrhea. She slept all day at full fluff right in front 0f heat.
I gave her second dose doxyclin mid afternoon. Later she had one nirmal poop. Making her total of only 2 poops for the day. The big diarrhea one, and the Normal one.
I weighed her, she was her normal weight.
Tonight she was willing to eat a little warm oatmeal again. And looked brighter.
I finally got in touch with vet. Tomorrow she will call in several expensive medications she said, that I should expect to pay over 100 bucks. While we were talking a few minutes ago. I went to check on Penny, and saw she had eaten because she had put some food in her water like she likes to so. Penny chirped at me and looked better so I offered her a tiny crumb of toast and she grabbed it and ate!@"
So my vet said call her first thing in the morning, and if she isn't eating or seems still bad, we will switch meds and she will call everything in.
They only thing I think. Is she has really been making soup lately, making her water so gross!!! I change it all day long, along with all my other burds who make soup. Maybe I accidentally missed changing it??? Not the whole day I change all every morning!", then noon then night. But it's possibly I missed??? I have to change water all day long messy burds! I just dont know what else coukd make her sick. ..
Anyway I'm hoping that she us starting to feel better.......we will see tomorrow
And encourage you all to have a safe heat source ready if you ever have a sick burd.
