I went in and saw Tequila today as the vet said she wasnt eating enough. I brought in food i know she loves. She barely touched it. I had to try and force her too. She wasnt as bright as yesterday. Her right leg is still the same, she hasnt got alot of feeling in it at all. She was tired and made no noises.

I feel like shes telling me shes had enough. I dont know what to do. I feel so helpless. The vet doesn't understand why shes taken a downturn either. He said he will give me a call in the morning with an update and what we can do from there.

I am trying my hardest to be positive. Its been five days since this all started.

Sending hugs and prayers for you Jess and Tequila. She is probably missing you a lot so if you can spend as much time with her as possible. She probably doesnt understand what is happening - you are her rock, give her the strength to want to fight this.

Start asking lots of questions of your vet, "what are you doing"? etc.

Have you seen this re the metal toxicity? I don't remember you saying anything about the vet trying to rid her system of it?

Yeah ive read that thankyou. I think this has built up slowly. Yes hes been doing what he needs to do to get rid of it. I dont know whether shes acting off because shes syressed and wants to go home.
Her leg hs improved but definitely not fully

Work on her being depressed, it is something you can help with. She needs to stay strong.

Sorry plumsmum i didnt even read half of what you wrote. Im not really with it. My vet is very honest and oven. Hes been giving her supplements for the metal toxicity. He will call me in the morning with an update and let me know what we can do from here.
I hope this isnt a permanent nerve issue or something. Im worried about that. Im trying so hard to be strong and positive.

Sending good thoughts to you and Tequila.

Strong Tequila is the best!

You've got this, Jess. Stay strong! I'm pulling for you two!

Aw, Jess. Sometimes while they're battling an illness their appetites will take a downward turn. I'm not going to sugarcoat the potential seriousness of that development, but I will tell you that birds sometimes rally back from that as well. I've been on both sides of that coin.

So don't despair. As Plumsmum mentioned, try to be there for her as much as possible to rally her spirits. Also, if she's not eating much you might want to bring more filling foods. Rice. Sweet potato. Pasta.

You're both still in my thoughts and prayers.

You and Tequila are in my thoughts and prayers...I know when Mr Biggles was ill he wouldnt eat and I had to keep sticking food in front of him feeding him by hand and also I gave water on a desert spoon for he wouldnt drink water either...bit by bit Im hoping she will eat for you and get stronger...she needs you there as much as you can be there with her giving her food and drink and just talking to her so she knows she hasnt lost her flock as you are her flock and just by your presence you will give her security and lower her stress ...if you cant be with her a whole lot then perhaps a recording of your voice that the vet could play to her now and then throughout the day might help.I am praying she gets well soon

Just catching up here. I'm so sorry you're going through this roller coaster of emotions. I can't imagine. I really hope everything works out for Tequila. She seems to be in great caring and knowledgeable hands and she's got a lot of love coming from you. Sounds like a pretty good recipe to me.

Sorry to hear that Tequila isn't doing better. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts.

Thanks everyone.

Update on Tequila. Her leg is more lame than yesterday. They will try a few things and call me later. I really don't like how this is going. I can't deal with this. I feel so sick.

This is so hard to go through, and it's evident how emotionally taxing this is. I hope, pray, and cross my fingers that this situation takes a turn around again for the better. Do you have confidence in this vet? Do you feel she is in good hands with your vet's expertise? Please take care of yourself as well during this difficult time. Will be looking for positive updates.

Definitely trust my vet. He is amazing. He is so caring and great with her. It's just not looking good and is getting worse. I'm at work and I'm finding it very hard to concentrate and not cry. She's been in there for 5 days now and it doesn't seem like she's responding to treatment anymore.

We are with you, Jess and Tequila. LOTS of love vibes in the air tonight... headed for YOU BOTH!

And by the way, THIS IS GREAT MODERATING!!!!
