Well, Miss Venus laid an egg and Miss Hyde is now in the house. I'm glad I can entertain Husband, he laughed the entire time.
This morning we got up, I fed the birds, Venus climbed up on her play top, gave me kisses, nothing too unusual. We left the house, she was in her cage and when we got home I opened her cage, she came out but she disappeared. I start looking for her and found her under her cage. Now being on your hands and knees looking under the cage is not the best position to be in when the devil charges at you. I couldn't get her and I put Husband's steel toe boots. Then I rolled her cage away from the wall and there it was, an egg.
So she's pouting now but angry under her cage. I did take the egg and I'm waiting for her to calm down. I'm rearranging her cage, and playtop, wearing Husband's boots because she is attacking everything. Took her new box too. I put some pomegranate out ( her fave) for her but so far she's not budging.
I anticipate getting her in her cage today is going to be really tough and painful. Joy. And she's going to be on lock down. We've been reading up on egg laying. Years ago I had a cockatiel that kept laying eggs and changing her cage and its location worked to get her to stop.
So for anyone wanting to see the egg here it is. I put a spoon next to it for size perspective.
