- Maya (Female Solomon Island eclectus parrot), Jolly (Male Solomon Island eclectus parrot), Bixby (Male, red-sided eclectus. RIP), Suzie (Male cockatiel. RIP)
Hey, all!
Just wanted to introduce the newest member of my family, Maya! I just adopted her yesterday, free of charge from someone who only wanted to be sure she was going to a good home. So far she's settling in quite well. She is a complete sweetheart, and she's already begun talking and whistling up a storm!
(The whistling aggravates poor Bixby to no end. For some reason he has always detested whistling, no matter who the offender. Maya, however, simply doesn't care. Lol! She seems to be wearing him down, though. Ha!)
They're remaining separated until I can get her checked out by an avian vet, but I'm really looking forward to seeing their interactions once they get to hang out together. (After a gradual acclimation process, of course.) From their body language, they both already seem very eager to meet.
