Cassie was my third bird, but she passed before my second bird. She was housed with Clicky (The one who almost got away) and they were happy together. When Cassie fell ill in December 2014, I thought she was going to die before Christmas, but her health improved, but she got worst again in January 2015, I thought she was going to recover like the first time, and she did. But she fell ill again in February 2015, and she got worst every day. Clciky started to protect her, and she wouldn't allow me near Cassie. But since Clicky never bit, I was always able to get past her. I uncovered the cage February 18th 2015, and nothing changed, Cassie and Clicky were sitting on the highest perch preening. But when I checked on them later in the day, Cassie was sitting on the bottom of the cage, in a corner.. Cassie had been suffering from Respiratory problems and she had Liver disease. her cage mate Clicky died almost a year later on January 28th 2016.

So very sorry for your two losses. I feel your pain and heartbreak, I lost two cockatiels right around the same time about 15 years ago, and I'll always remember those two. Don't blame yourself, only focus on moving forward and think of all the happy times you had with them.

I actually don't have the courage to watch, but I am glad to have seen just the still photo. What a beautiful little bird. She died loved and knowing she was loved.
