Bonnie and Clyde, Umbrella 'Toos, and BoozieToo, a double yellow Amazon. RIP Boozie, Blue crowned mealy Amazon
I am utterly devastated. Boozie was sitting on his perch talking and chirping away. He was happy as a clam. I was making the birds breakfast when I heard Boozie making a sound like he was choking. He fell off his perch and I ran over and picked him up, but he was spasming and I rubbed his chest and carried him to the table and he was dead before I got there.

He was declared healthy by the avian vet 6 months ago. He was eating well, his poo was normal, he was happy, he was as active as ever, and now he is gone.

I have been wracking my brain to explain it and nothing makes any sense.

I am sorry...
What were you cooking, was there oil or butter involved, and what kind of pan?

Again..so sorry---just trying to rule out possibilities.
A necroscopy will be a very important matter in this case, as you have other birds.
Could it have been a stroke?

I am not trying to be insensitive..I am crushed on your behalf, but to me, that is all the more reason to get to the bottom of this tragedy..

Oh I'm sorry for your lost! I'm glad you were with him and happy right up till this happen. My deepest sympathy to you.

AWFUL!

I adored that little Boozie, too. I am so so so sorry!

You'll get to the bottom of this, for Boozie's memory and the sake of other and future birds.

For now, yes, we're with you. And your darling passed with you there, loved and treasured.

I'm so very sorry.

I wasn't cooking anything, I was making the birds breakfast. Also, Bonnie and Clyde, the same sized birds (more or less) were within a couple yards of him and they are fine.

Oh no!!! I been following Boozie's story , this is a real shocking post. I am sosorry for you my friend. You gave Boozie a great home, but I guess itis like when one of the good people go young. I made a donation in Boozies name to Cornell's Avian studies program. I know it does not help but Boozies passing should be noted.

so sorry............makes me worry about my own.......

I’m so sorry to hear about Boozie :(. I’m glad you were with him, but so sorry that this happened.

Oh no! I, too, have followed Boozie’s story! I’m so sorry to hear this. Praying for comfort for all of you.

My deepest condolences for your loss of Boozie. Passing in this manner is heartbreaking and tragic.

I am so sorry to hear this.

The one positive thing I can think about: at least it happened fast and you were there.
It must be very traumatic for you, but you know how it happened even if you never find out why exactly.

Goodbye Boozie, fly well!

I’m truly sorry for your loss!

I was not familiar with Boozie’s story but I am all too familiar with this type of sudden tragedy. Given the choice I think it’s best to be with them during their final moments, to hold them and tell them how much they are loved as they pass. As traumatic as that can be, in my very humble opinion I think it’s better that way.

My sincerest condolences to you at this very difficult time.

I'm very sorry to read this, and I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. Like the others have said, I would be want to be there instead of coming up on the passing of my friend. Once again I feel for you and I'm very sorry cause now I know how a parrot effects your life completely.
