Zelda the Picky Bird

So I haven't been able to find a clear answer, but my Zelda (5yo Cinnamon GCC) is incredibly color-selective, when it comes to everything from food to toys. She will not eat or touch anything purple, and will dump her food dish out so she can avoid the purple pellets (her main diet is Zupreem), and we are currently trying to find a way to secure her bowl.

Is this normal bird behavior?

Many birds tend to have color preferences! I've recently met a macaw, and am now helping to care for this particular macaw, and he also doesn't like purple pellets!

And there are two cockatoos... one that doesn't like yellow pellets and the other that doesn't like green pellets.




I prefer to avoid dyes so there can't be any color preferences when it comes to food, unless it's fresh food!
