I finally was able to video ZaZu imitating a horse. Seems like he only does this when excited/scared. He did it a few times today when our exterminator was here then in the video you see my son and how he acts.
I watched a few vids on youtube and saw how they puff up and tail feathers spread when talking.
Hopefully this link works to the video

Thank you for sharing! I'm still laughing, that's the first time I've ever heard a parrot imitate a horse and Zazu does it so well.

Thanks he makes me laugh when he does it.
I am hoping he will start talking, if he talks as good as he does the horse he should do great.
All I can think of is the people I got him from must have kept him in a barn with the horses.

That is a really good horse noise! I would like to mention to stand back when he's doing the flared tale and pinning eyes. He didn't look angry there, but he certainly looked just a *tad* excited to be in the same vicinity of:54:

My son was there, ZaZu does not like him at all.

Ah, a non-preffered human was around. Kiwi busts out his full range of noises and a flashy display too when he's either extremely excited or extremely pissed. Either way, standing a good 10 feet back is a good call when he's in either one of those moods:52: Is Zazu flighted? If so, you may want to keep him in his cage when your son is around for the safety of both of them (it's natural to react to being attacked and birds are very delicate). Kiwi HATES my MIL with a passion, and even though he can't fly, we always locked him up when she came over because he would hang off the side of the cage waiting for her to get close enough to grab:eek: She's the only person he really has it out for, he isn't fond of other strangers, but doesn't go out of his way to attack them either. Funny how they pick and choose who they like isn't it:09:
