YouTube links and embedding

I notice that when I mention a youtube video URL, the forum embeds it. But, it uses an out-of-date 4:3 aspect ratio and a very tiny window. Can the forum settings be updated?

The current right way to achieve the effect is using the oEmbed standard, where the forum asks the referenced server for the correct (and always current!) code for that.

Nobody has EVER complained about the embedded YouTube links being too small. You always have the option of viewing any embedded clip full screen, so I don't think it will be necessary to make any changes in that department.

Next time I chat with one of the admins, I'll bring it up, and see what they think.

I don't want to speak for anyone, but if JDlugosz is suggesting the change, and he seems to know a thing or two about embedded video's, maybe its something he could help update?
