So, I was just wondering - we all know what the books say about a parrot needing 10-12 hours of sleep a night. I know that Hamlet goes to bed at about 7:30 p.m. and I pull the cover off his cage at about 7:30 a.m the next morning. Sometimes he's not even awake yet ... is it possible that some birds need more sleep than others, or, is this yet another symptom that I should be freakin' out over (by the way, he's not flock calling in the morning either ...).

I wouldn't be freaking out about that, If your guy is anything like mine he will be waking up during the night and either having a party or just talking to someone (not sure who he talks to) I have woken up during the night as I can hear voices downstairs, I freak out, try to wake hubby without success, then creep down, shaking like a leaf only to find out that its only Bucc. Othertimes he's been known to play his music box and sing, not a great thing to be hearing at 3.00am. cos he likes us all to hear it.
