Parrots
Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
....Ms. GaleriaGila did it once more..

Here is my precious Smokey. I took this picture years ago. Smokes was on my desk..in a little cubby, sitting on some papers, peering out at me as I did my thing. This was the ONLY real good photo I have of her,and our resident ar-teest captured her perfectly.
I thought I'd share.

Steven...when Gail becomes World Famous ;) I could retire comfortably by selling these!
However, that won't happen! ( I mean ME selling 'em!) coz they are worth a bazillion bucks to me already :D

I know what you mean! Our's sits on our our dresser and our Julio will fly over to it and ask: Who?

What Gail does with the eye's has all of us entranced!

Wonderful work Gail, Smokey literally jumps off the canvas! I am a lucky owner of one of your pieces.

Wow Gail's work is SO good!! They look amazing. Smokey's feathers looks like a photo.

I am humbled to tears.
It was my honor to paint Smokey.
And now she's in my heart forever.
Love ya, Jim. (And Amy and the Beebs and Smokey!)

All Gail's art is astounding. I don't have any other birds for her to paint, so I may have to get additional views of the same two. Smokey looks ready to step out of the page!

This. Is. Beautiful. I can see Smokeys personality popping out of the picture! Wow Gail!

Wow that is amazing! So much detail in thought it was just a photo for a bit. Wow I'm stunned.

Thank you all.
It's been a while since I rambled about my new technique, developed especially for feathers, so...
I actually start with pastels and pencils on watercolor paper. That's where the subtle and fluffy feather stuff happens. I don't know how to do that with paint. Then I cut the bird out and glue it to a canvas, and then finish up with acrylics and markers. That's where the color and texture stuff happens. And here's my secret for eyes. After I draw/paint them, I put a tiny dot of white (for sparkle) somewhere around the iris, let it dry, and then, drop a big plop of clear fingernail polish on top, and... the bird is alive. :)

Now that I told my secret, I'm just glad don't have to kill y'all!

That's good because then you'd have a lot of birdies to look out for.

Oh, Geeeez, Gus wants to put a contract out on somebody!
I didn't mean it, Gus! I'm just a wannabe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
