Which cage do you think is good for a yellow naped male? Ivory is in both so you can see a bigger bird in them. The yellow nape is pretty lazy overall and he will be out close to everyday so I don't see the need to buy a huge new cage. I will of course get him a bigger cage if he becomes more active but he tends to just sit around at the moment.

The first is 36 wide by 24 deep by 22 high.

The second is 30 wide by 24 depth by 26 high.

I've been leaning towards the second because it is higher...

EDIT: Just wanted to say I have an empty cage in my one stacker so I'm not getting rid of a bird and no one died... Just moved my two green cheek conures together!

Lol, no one died. Thank goodness ! you crack me up!
I agree, the second one. YN's being pretty tall too. So he's a perch potato? Robin and Raven are pretty much also ;)

So who is this new green guy?! Is it the one who's been mentioned here before? Will he be all yours? Ooh, Victoria we need some details here!

So your family did finally decide to add a amazon to your flock huh;)

I agree on the bottom cage. Amazons like to climb and don't do the 'hopping around' a cockatoo would, so Ivory would probably get better use of the wider cage and the amazon the taller one:) Kiwi's cage is of a similar size to the bottom cage, and he's quite an active bird and does just fine in it. In fact, most amazons do fine in a tad smaller cage (within reason of course) than other similarly sized parrots. Since they do tend to be a bit on the territorial side, I would see a better use of money to get the zon his own play stand rather than a larger cage.

So any pictures of this mystery boy?:D

Edit: This is Kiwi's cage, and he's on par size wise to a YNA:

Jeanne knows I want Kelly and from what she has said if I want him he is mine as long as she likes what she sees in the interaction between us when I go over next time:D At least that is the impression I am getting...I may have also threatened to not babysit the shelter next month;):p She totally knows I would cave though:52: It has been over 3 months now since I adopted Folger so that rule has been met:) And Max doesn't count since he is my mothers not mine...

Kelly has totally been playing me since he first came to the shelter two months ago now. He acts sweeter to me every time I see him and when I babysat last week he went into full on suck up mode... apparently he had to up the anti since there is an absolutely hilarious new ducorps cockatoo at the shelter that I was fawning over. He was purring, giving off that amazon smell, calling for me when I left the room, trying to follow me around, and was even being fairly nice to my mother when she came to pick me up even though he isn't by any means fond of her:rolleyes:

My poor poor car is getting a transmission rebuilt right now so I have no transportation:eek: in case anyone is wondering why a 23 year old needs her mother to pick her up....

See I've been had and this was a little while ago... I hadn't even noticed the manipulation yet:30:

Kiwi I really can't wait to move. I am actually making the basement my room since its a first floor with a walk out and everything. It is so huge with 10 ft ceilings...the amount of play area for the birds I can create but also with separation between play areas... so excited to create some jungle areas for the birds:) Though I'm still trying to figure out how to hang things from the ceiling but still be easy to get down and clean....

I thought it was Kelly! :D yay! I hope it all works out where you can have him. Then you and your mom can both have your Bare Eyed's and your big birds :)

I like the second cage. The height is nice.

And she can't steal this one since Kelly doesn't like her:p He usually pins the eyes, ruffles the neck feathers, and flares the tail at her! I've never actually seen him be nice to anyone but Jeanne and me actually.

He can see the big "SUCKER" across your forehead :)

In the second video he tilts his head and looks up at me...taking note of the SUCKER written there and going 'I've so got this one and she doesn't even know it'.

It has been and now we might not be able to go tomorrow! Hopefully we can... my car needs a part that I might have to run around trying to find instead tomorrow:(

Today I kicked out Loki from his cage and moved him to the middle stacker in my other cage in hopes that I do get Kelly soon:D

Loki trying to figure out what happened and exploring his new setup.

And the empty space hopefully for Kelly:) I'll have to go shopping for some new perches:D

So I didn't get to see Kelly yesterday.... my mother wasn't feeling well and couldn't drive me...

Hopefully sometime this week though:) My car is officially fixed so I can finally go wherever I want again without relying on other people!

Looks very nice, I just got me a 5ft tall 2.5ft round, a very old one! It is some kind of antique one. I will make a post once am done cleaning it. ;)
