can some one tell me if amazons will breed at and age of 20 years old if they were keep together? i am looking to raise some for my self and have a chance to by a pair that are around 16 years old

There is a very long way from wanting and being a successful breeder. Years of knowledge gathered, relationships developed, equipment obtained and proven parrots purchased. Then there is the costs. All of this to get to a starting point. This does not even begin to address what happens 'if' a pair is successful. Now what? That becomes an additional knowledge base with even more time and costs.

Letting nature find her way and hoping for the best can only assure a failure and with hope that is prior to the death of baby parrots.

Rethink your starting point by passing on the purchase of this set of parrots.

Generally speaking YES, Amazons can absolutely breed in their twenties (and up).

Having said that, there are SO many ads out there for 'pairs' of parrots, and the vast majority have never been successful with a clutch, hence they are being sold. Then there are ads that claim to be selling 'proven breeders'. Be careful with those, too, unless the seller has kept immaculate record of their clutches.

As for the age, unless the seller can prove the birds' ages, they may very well be much older than claimed. :)

Well , i lost that long reply.
