While looking up Jardines I came across the yellow fronted parrot. Anyone have more info on these birds? I'm guessing that they are not common in captivity bc I can find little to no info. What stunning birds though. Love learning about the different species!!!

From what I know they have never been in the pet trade. I'd expect the only birds in captivity would be in their country of origin(Ethiopia) or a zoo.

It's kinda cool there is still a free species of parrot, the species who are pets are doomed to be poached.

The only yellow fronted I know of really is the amazon - and that's obviously not what you're on about.

Will have to look into it, I love finding new birdies! :)

It's very fascinating. Awesome looking bird. Couldn't even find info about it in a zoo which is surprising. It's on endangered list as least concern which is great. I originally thought they were talking about Amazon's as well until I pulled up bio and pic ;). Very different lol
