Wont stop jumping on my head.

Hello,

Jack has been an ideal boy till recently. He is the best companion but lately he has been landing on my head and my husbands. He starts banging his beak sometimes when he gets there. We have tipped him off only to have him come straight back in a full circle.

I read on other places that they reckon they are playing ?? To distract them with other things ?
Is it just their way of playing ? Im getting a sore head ! He seems to do this more at night. He has been biting a bit lately too, he is nearly 2 yrs old , I saw others having a similar problem with biting saying its a puberty stage ?? If he is running around on the floor we really have to watch our feet as he goes after toes like a bull at a gate !

Haha!!!!! Im sorry but it sounds funny.... I know its no fun but im imagining mine doing it but shook my head and go nahhhh....

Mine is 6 years old so I guess he's passed that puberty stage. Cause he's already nested with Gracie for the previous owner.... so far mines been model citizens except Gracie prefers my partner better and have food aggression towards me, not my partner. She's getting better about it though.... im still learning about them as I've had them for a month and a half. So far training has been a breeze for both..... Good luck with yours!!!

hahhah I know it does sound funny. I am able to deal with him, just wondering why he does it and if it is puberty stage. Sounds like it is, a naughty stage !!
I have 3 late teens and now this naughty stage of Jack !!
So now when my hubby gets home from work , he sees Jack going for my head and my husband automatically goes and puts a cap on my head. It probably sort of encourages it , but we are letting Jack know its not ok. But I tell you what soon Im going to be walking around like a mummy with my head in bandages hahahahah He seems to only do it at night.
While Im writing this email , he is behind me on a swing yelling " Weeee ". hahhahahaha , they are so gorgeous arent they !

Yes!!! Mines goes weeeeee all the time too... we were having easter dineer with a friend over, JoJo talked non stop and I couldn't stop laughing...trying not to blow my food into my nose.... we were all laughing so hard cause he's just one funny bird...Gracie can careless....lol... she goes about her business as usual.

Seriously, you may have to think about getting his wings clipped to stop him from doing stuffs like that on your head.

We've been told that the beak "bonking" is a way to show ownership. Apparently, Jack is saying "My flock!". Jade does this quite a bit and, yes, it can get to be a little painful after awhile. It really funny when she tries to "bonk" while lying on her back - doesn't work very well. I've also noticed that Ruby has started to do this a bit when she's on the Merry-Go-Round (usually called a ceiling fan). She bonks the blade she's on to keep Jade and Max off. We can usually distract Jade with a toy or by changing the game we're playing.

Our birds aren't allowed to land on our heads and they're usually pretty good about it. If they do, we just reach up and move them. They usually only land on our heads if the shoulder they wanted is already occupied by one of the other 2 birdies.
