Rest in Peace Rio
With the sky high temperatures in the area, please don't forget about our little wild bird friends. They would sure appreciate a fresh dish of water for bathing and drinking. I have a shallow dish of water out on the porch on a table near the bird feeder. :)

It is very hot here in Texas. We keep water out for them to bathe in and drink and they love getting in the sprinkler when we water the grass. We have several hummingbirds we feed as well. They are so cute.
One year a hummingbird almost drowned in our pool. We got him out and held him and gave him sugar water until he came out of shock, then nestled him down in the grass and watched until he soon flew away. It was awesome to actually hold a humming bird in your hand.

Good advice. I have a pond so the birds love to come visit me. You know it is hot when the goldfish are acting sluggish. I have to hose them down too to keep water temps more comfortable for them.

We have horses and always have a tree limb in their water troughs so's any critter that might fall in, trying to get a drink, also has a chance of getting out! I found some kind of medium sized black bird, 2 weeks ago, on the limb, soaking wet! Maybe he/she was taking a bath, maybe,,,happy to have a helping hand.
