Christmas is coming and my husband wants to know what to get me. I know there have been so many things throughout the year that I have wanted, but budget is tight and so i let them go, and now I am drawing a blank. If you were going to ask for one parrot related gift, what would it be this year? Also, what does it say about me that I dont know what I want, but I want it to be for my birds?

That you're a very caring and loving parront. :D

If I could ask for one thing for my fids, it would be a gift certificate from MSBS (or other bird specialty place) so that I could shop until I drop. :)

I ask my family for giftcards so I can use them on my birds.

I know my man, if I ask for a gift card it will be for $10 :p haha, and I love the aviator, but I already have several!

If it were me, probably a 'much more than we'd normally spend on one' toy of some kind for him (like the super gigantic ones). It makes ME *so* happy to see Kiwi happy:D I think ANY good bird owner feels the same, so I think it says you love your birdies and want the best for them!

How about a box of random parrot toys? And it says that you are a dedicated parront and love your fids!

I've learned to use my negotiation skills, it helps that my husband is obsessed with bycicles and motorcycles. When he wants something costly for his hobby, I point out how much cheaper the item at the top of the parrot's wish list is and they actually need it for their health and well being. He usually orders the parrot supplies before he orders the bike parts. It helps that he loves the parrots too and he really likes to shop online.

my birthday is on the 5th ,my best friend took me to a bird store and let me shop^^
Don't you just love it!
my sister ordered a little fountain for them, hmmm now i think off it,what did i get for me?
But i too am drawing up a blank with Christmas,my father while he knows what they mean for me,has no interest in them, and thinks a am going overboard on them,i have no idea what to ask.
Funny how we are never able to thinks for something for ourselves but have a wishlist for the birds.

The difference between a "hobbyist" and people who TRULY look at their bird(s) as the intelligent, loving companions they are! They are really like feathered children- their joy is your joy and you always put them FIRST. Not to mention some stupid gadget would be outdated in 2 years tops, your birds will be with you 10/20/30 years up to a lifetime with the big guys. ABSOLUTELY your long term companion is a priority over other frivolous things (and that's what the things you can't think of that you supposedly are suppose to want are-frivolous).

My husband and I don't really NEED anything for ourselves this Christmas, so Kiwi's getting a new cage with some new branches, a sunlamp, a swing. I can't wait to see how happy he's going to be! Seeing my bird being curious and making his funny little happy noises is the best gift ever:) No cell phone, laptop, tablet ext... that I really don't need could be more appealing to me than Kiwi enjoying himself.

A agree on the large bird toys! Or maybe one of those really nice, intricate play gyms?
