i live in selby, england
Parrots
yellow sided green cheek conure (mikey)
a celestial parrotlet (frank)
my 9 month old conure mike is going through the moulting stage and so far 3 of his clipped wing feathers have come out, we cant decide wether when all of his clipped wing feathers come out and re grow do we keep them clipped or give him the chance to fly, he has had them clipped since he was born..any help would be great.

It is not posble för me to advice you. Do to risk för flying away i keep my perrot wingtrimmed

tricky as my nut is fully flighted, but she has always flown, but as yours has never flown, it won't need to adjust to not being able to fly, so if its perfectly happy now, clipping should not be an issue

also you are near me, can you inbox me the vet that does that, as the ones i rung won't clip a bird

thanks

Agreed that is a decision you have to make yourself & your little guy.

I believe wing clipping is a personal choice. As long as it's done correctly.

One of my conures is clipped and the other is not. My sun was clipped when we got him but my boyfriend allowed his flight feathers to come in and now Carlisle likes to fly. My Dusky is clipped and has always been clipped since we got her. I like it that way. She isn't potty trained and I would not like her using everything she landed on as a bathroom. If I had it my way my sun would also be clipped just for fear of them somehow getting away. (they're always in one room with a closed door but I guess I'm just paranoid) It's whatever you would be most comfortable with. Clipped birds rely on you to take them around with you whereas a bird with their flight feathers could fly from you, to their cage, to a shelf, to a lamp, to anywhere you might not want them.
