I went to treatment first in Phoenix,AZ and then in Ocklawaha, FL for Schizoaffective Disorder. It's been nearly a year and I am healthy and stable and ready to see Lucy again but I found out some new things about her. The guy who sold her to me told me she was less than a year old. She was staying with the owner of a bird shelter and the veterinarian told her she's about 35, and has laid many eggs in her years. She still bites the heck out of anyone carrying her when someone walks in the door, she sees another bird, even a budgie, but apparently I've been told she sings now! I'm excited to see her again and bring her back home because she has not bonded with anybody at the shelter and has bitten the heck out of everyone at the shelter (she always loved me). The shelter owner can't even get her to bond with her because she can't bond in the presence of other birds. But I'm getting my Lucy back!! I don't care if she was once a bird used just for breeding and she is overly protective of her mate, I love my Lucy. And now that I'm healthy, it won't be Lucy having to cheer me up every day and make me feel better. Now I can cheer Lucy up. I pick her up from the shelter in one month.
